STUDENT ADMISSIONS

REQUIREMENTS

  • Age: Private Pilot students must be at least 16 years of age to solo and 17 years of age for FAA Certification. Commercial Pilot students must be at least 18 years of age for FAA Certification.

  • Language: To hold an FAA Pilot Certificate you must be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language and have at least English Level 4 English ability

 

  • Medical: For Student, Private, Instrument, Commercial and Flight Instructor you must hold at least an FAA Third Class Medical Certificate to solo as a student or take an FAA Practical Test for Airman Certification.

 

  • Education: There is no education requirement for an FAA pilot Certificate. But a High School Diploma is recommended for a Commercial Pilot Certificate and at least 2 years of college or equivalent work experience for a Flight Instructor Certificate. 

 

  • Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen. JB Aeronautics is not approved for the training of foreign national students.

  • Airport security: For access to the airplane parking ramp, students must hold a Fresno Yosemite International Airport Security Badge.

ADMISSIONS PROCESS

  • Complete Enrollment Application

  • Present proof of citizenship: either original birth certificate or valid passport and valid driver's license.

  • Bring pilot logbook or school transcripts for training credit

  • Obtain FAA Medical Certificate (not required but recommended)

  • Apply for Fresno Yosemite International Airport Security Badge (contact school for more information).

 

Note:  There is no enrollment fee required.

PAYMENT POLICY

JB Aeronautics does not require pilots or students pay in advance to receive flight training or rent an airplane. It is only required to pay for training as received—no charges. Payment may be in the form of cash, check or a major credit card. Aircraft rental requires renter to have a credit card on file.

In accordance with Section 94874 of the Education Code, JB Aeronautics may not accept a prepayment for services in excess of $2,500.00.
